APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!

We are excited to announce that applications for the 2025-26 school year at Harbor Christian Academy are now open! The application must be completed and all supplemental documents submitted before an applicant can progress to the next step in the admissions process. A non-refundable application fee of $50 must be submitted with each application.
We do not have an application deadline and will continue to accept applications as long as there is space available. Family interviews begin in January 2025 and families will be contacted for interviews in the order in which their applications were received. We encourage families to begin the application process as soon as possible.
Admissions Criteria
In keeping with HCA’s mission of developing students academically and spiritually, based on Biblical truth, HCA considers the following:
· Families who understand and accept our mission and are willing to support it.
· Students whose academic records demonstrate proven capability to succeed in our program. Therefore, students’ records will be carefully evaluated prior to acceptance.
· Students who demonstrate a behavioral history (through report cards, references, etc.) that is in harmony with the behavioral expectations of HCA.
What is the process?
Application
Follow the link on the teal button above to complete your child’s application for Kindergarten, 1st grade, or 2nd grade. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee. Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are now open!
Testing-
All students who will be K-2 during the 2025-26 school year who apply for admission to Harbor Christian Academy will take either a Kindergarten Readiness screener or a test of grade-level skills for 1st or 2nd grade. It is possible for students who can provide access to test data from a previous school to have this requirement waived. Testing and interviews begin in January.
Interview
Once your application for admission, application fee, and all supplemental documents have been received and student testing is completed, we will contact you to schedule a family interview with the principal. At Harbor Christian Academy we view education as a partnership between school and home. The family interview is an opportunity for us to get to know your family and learn more about your child.
Notification of Decision
Parents will be notified of the Admissions Committee’s admission decision through email after all of the above steps have been completed.
Enroll
If your student is accepted, we will offer you enrollment at Harbor Christian Academy by sending you an enrollment packet to complete. Once the enrollment packet is submitted, your student is officially enrolled at Harbor Christian Academy. Acceptance and enrollment at HCA will begin in February 2025. There is a $250 enrollment fee but families who pay their first month’s tuition by May 1st will receive a $250 credit to their account!

FAQs
● What grades will you have? We will have Kindergarten through 2nd grade during the first year and will add one to two more grade levels per year through 8th grade.
● Are you affiliated with a particular church? We are a non-denominational Christian school with an independent board made up of members from seven different churches.
● What type of curriculum will you be using? Is it a Christian school curriculum? We are using a variety of different curricula–some is from Christian school publishers, some is secular, and one is from a homeschool curriculum. We tried to find the best possible resources for each subject area. Regardless of the publisher type, students will be taught to look at each area of academics and of life as they relate to God and His word, the Bible. Specific curriculum sources are available upon request.
● What is the tuition cost per student? $9,800 per year, or $980 per month for 10 months. (for comparison, public spending per K-12 student in Oregon is $12,460)
● Will there be tuition assistance available? Although there is no guarantee that scholarships will be available the first year, once we raise enough money to cover start-up expenses any additional money will be used to provide need-based scholarships. We want to offer need-based scholarships as soon as possible.
● What are the advantages of attending HCA? There are too many to list! A few highlights are: small class sizes; a Christian worldview; a strong emphasis on integrity and respect; Spanish classes starting in 1st grade; the belief that we will only provide the best education when we form a true partnership between the school and the parents.
● When is the first day of school? September 2nd, 2025 (the day after Labor Day)
● What are the hours of the school day? 8 am to 3 pm
● What is the dress code? We have a selection of uniform choices, available through Metro School Uniforms under the Harbor Christian Academy section in “Shop Your School.” https://metroschooluniforms.com/
● Will volunteer hours be required? Each family is expected to volunteer for a minimum of 30 hours per year. This may be fulfilled by parents, grandparents, relatives, or friends but it is vital to our ability to operate effectively. For families who are truly unable to offer their time, a buy-out option is available.
● Is there a registration deadline? Students will be accepted until class sizes are full, after which they will be placed on a waiting list. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee. Students who are accepted for enrollment will pay a $250 enrollment fee but if the first month’s tuition is paid by May 1st, they will receive a $250 credit to their accounts.
